Automotive Service Advisor:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established independent garage based in Walton-on-Thames. The company has an outstanding reputation and prides itself on delivering a consistently high standard of customer care at all times. Ashley MOT & Service Centre is seeking a new Service Advisor to join their team.

Main Job Function:

The Automotive Service Advisor plays a fundamental role within Ashley MOT and Service Centre; you will ensure the highest standard of courtesy and professionalism when interacting with customers and members of the public. Receive customer enquiries by telephone and in person, and successfully convert these into bookings maximising service, sales and profitability by selling core, value added and incremental products. The successful applicant will be required to confidently deliver high levels of customer care, work well in a team, and thrive working under pressure to tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will have good opportunity to progress their career within the company.

Key tasks as a Service Advisor include:

  • Greeting customers  
  • Answering enquiries
  • Liaising with Technicians and Suppliers
  •  Accurately record vehicle information, service history and effectively follow-up and prospect customers
  • Ensure customers are aware of service and repair work required to their vehicles  
  • Advise on estimated costs of repairs and work to be undertaken 
  • Advise on timescales and collection arrangements 
  • Produce job cards on in-house computer system
  • Preparation and completion of invoices 
  • Sell additional products as appropriate to customers’ needs 
  •  Ensure the reception is kept clean & tidy

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience within the motor trade preferred but not essential, must have a general understanding of vehicle components. 
  • Service Advisor experience desirable.
  • Ongoing in-house training will be provided.
  • A full valid driving licence is also essential for this role.
