Assistant Accountant

Due to exceptional growth, we currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a well-established and stable company based in the heart of Manchester!

A Building Services and Plumbing Company that provides a time effective rapid response maintenance service to both the residential and commercial market by a team of highly skilled professional engineers.

Role and responsibilities

You will be working in a small, yet busy team where you will report to the Operations Manager. Your role will be varied and give you the opportunity to take on responsibility and also to develop your career in a first class finance team. You will be tasked with, but not limited to;

• Supporting the Finance Manager with month end reporting
• Process all invoices, matching to relevant orders
• Post all bank payments and allocate payments to relevant invoices and Investigate any discrepancies
• Check and process any credit notes; allocate as necessary
• Payment processing, ensuring suppliers are paid in a timely manner to include commission due to agents
• Bank reconciliation on a weekly basis
• Review all supplier statements ensuring all supplier payment terms are adhered to
• Produce weekly aged creditors lists
• outstanding items and review debit balances
• Posting of monthly expenses for sale staff
• Produce cost of sales review reports
• Assist in the preparation of the year-end financial statements and supporting audit file as required

Candidate

• Experience within a similar role
• Self-motivated
• Able to meet deadlines by working alone, or in a team
• Well organised
