Position: Finance Analyst
Location: London
Salary: £40000 - £55000 per annum + packages + study report
A leading general insurer based in the City is seeking a Finance Analyst to join their team to support the IT finance division.
In a small team, this person will be responsible for assisting in the control of all IT finances incurred by the IT cost centre budget holders through performing and maintaining processes to control payments. You will be providing reporting and analysis of all Projects and BAU IT spend; this role will predominantly be looking at the Projects spend, though there will be long term scope to get involved in the BAU work.
The main focus of the role will be on:
* Providing input to the IT function's strategy and key objectives, including attending departmental meetings
* Supporting the planning process across IT, including production of budgets and reforecasts
* Maintaining cost controls and challenging the business on spend
* Working on business cases for project approvals, assessing the financial viability of a new project
The ideal candidate will be part-qualified, finalist or newly qualified accountants (ACCA/CIMA) with experience in supporting an IT division from a finance perspective (though this is not essential).
This person needs to be confident, bright and ambitious, and able to communicate at a senior level and be able to make non-finance people understand financial information.
There is a succession plan in place for this role; once the person qualifies and has experience in the position, after 18 months to 2 years, they would expect them to become the Lead Analyst in the team or have good opportunity to move internally to the Central Finance team.
