                                        Community Carer
 
Accountable to the Managing Team
 
 
Main Purpose
 
Under the general direction of the Management Team to provide a carer/support service to an assigned caseload of Clients, to a standard satisfactory to Burn Brae Community Care.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
1)      To provide a caring/supportive service to enable Clients to live independently in their own homes
 
Tasks may include: 

-      personal care for clients

-      all domestic tasks

-      laundry

-      shopping and prescription collecting

-      accompanying clients to health appointments

-      medical prescriptions

-      monitoring needs and medication

-      any other tasks assessed by Social Services and deemed necessary by the Management Team.

 
2)  To be flexible and responsive to individual needs whilst recognising the Clients rights to privacy, dignity and independence and attempting to maintain their control and quality of life.
 
3)  To attend compulsory Moving & Handling training sessions as required.
 
4)  Good communication skills are essential to enable you to support Clients needs.
 
5)  To be able to provide adequate information and feedback to the appropriate member of the Management Team.
 
6)  The ability to assist with cover for colleagues holidays, sickness etc.
 
7)  To recognize and be aware at all times the importance of providing a reliable and quality service, abiding by Burn Brae Community Care company rules.
 
8)  Confidentiality to be maintained at all times.
 
9)  Alternative week-end work is compulsory to the post.
