Job Role: Content Editor
A great opportunity has arisen for the successful candidate to join our team as a Content Editor in our Macclesfield office. Our client is a recently established, growing business with an excellent reputation in the education sector. This role is to work with our local authority customers who have purchased a bespoke product. The job is primarily to liaise directly with the customer base and to respond to their daily needs. It involves forum management, writing announcements and weekly/monthly newsletters, drafting templates and guidance documents, and acting as the point of contact for these customers.
As part of the team, your responsibility is also to peer review work from the rest of the editorial team to ensure the quality of the content remains high. You are expected to stay up-to-date with the education sector and build strong relationships with the customers to obtain valuable feedback to enable continual improvement of the site.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- To liaise with the local authority customers and act as their point of contact
- To manage the communication forum used by head teachers and school business managers within that authority
- To write weekly/monthly newsletters that are shared through this service with all the schools within that authority
- To draft templates, guidance documents and write content that is accurate, well written and relevant, based on the knowledge and expertise of the Company Hub and contributors
- To ensure the quality of the content remains consistently high
- To obtain feedback from users of the website and to analyse this information to enable continual improvement of the product/service
- To remain current with internet trends, technologies and site design
- To suggest ways of maximising user engagement with the site
- To actively promote the company's policies and procedures, particularly Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Dignity at Work and Equality, and to be accountable for the implementation of new/amended policies and procedures as and when required
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong copywriting and editing skills
- Great attention to detail and concern for quality
- Excellent English language skills - including spelling, grammar and punctuation
- A pleasant and clear telephone manner
- High levels of consistency
- The ability to work in a team with minimal supervision in an open plan office
- Resilience and the ability to deal with conflict in a professional, objective and calm manner
