Job Title: BME Dementia Outreach Worker

Location: Manchester and Trafford

Salary: £9.00 per hour

Hours: 7 Hours per day (one day per week)

The company is an established provider of Health and Social Care services based in Manchester.

The company's Dementia Support service involves dedicated members of staff giving one to one support, information and guidance to people with dementia, their carers and wider family or friends, to help people understand dementia, cope with day to day living with dementia and prepare for the future.

Job Role:

As a BME Dementia Outreach Worker you will have the rewarding opportunity to work with BME people with Dementia and their families to raise awareness of dementia, give information and offer support and guidance to them. The service is unique to each service users as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs.

You will offer support and guidance to service users in a variety of ways, whether in their own home, at ACCG premises, face to face, by phone, letter or email. You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals, as well as facilitating the weekly ACCG Dementia Café.

The Candidate:

  • The company is looking for an individual who possesses NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carer's. Your ability to assess service users' needs along with the understanding of the need for service user confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service.
  • To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills, strong organisational and time management skills are a requirement of this role.
  • A driving licence and car are also essential.
