Robin and Martin Ltd. are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and proactive individual who will be required to assist with first line on site technical support and advice in primary schools.

Duties will include general ICT and AV troubleshooting, hardware and software installation, maintenance, general ICT administration tasks and procurement advice.

You will also be expected to liaise with company selected third party contractors and suppliers in order to secure best value for your schools.

The job will entail working without day-to-day supervision and to ensure high quality service is delivered to our schools. It important you maintain our company standards and be an effective communicator.

The ability to work with and around young people in a primary school environment and to play an active role in improving the teaching and learning in schools is essential.

The successful applicant will be required to visit several sites, have use of a vehicle and possess a full clean driving licence. A mileage allowance will be paid to cover motoring costs.

The annual salary is £21-£23k per year. The position is term time only for the 39 week school year. Annual leave must be taken during school holidays.

Skills Required

You will need to demonstrate an understanding in most of the following;

• Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems. Server 2008/2012 and Windows /7/8/10 knowledge will be required. You will be expected to configure and maintain a typical client/server environment including AD, GPOs, Security, WSUS, Scripts, Shares, Printers, Backups, and software deployment.

• Apple client and server operating systems. A number of our sites have Macbooks and Apple servers running OSX Mountain Lion. You would be expected to have some knowledge of Apple based management tools to maintain these systems.

• Good basic network skills. A thorough understanding of TCP/IP, including DNS, DHCP, routing and the use of basic diagnostic tools to fault find problems is required.

• Managed network print solutions. Most of our schools use MFDs as network print, scan and copy solutions together with some form of central print management solution. You would be expected to maintain and configure these systems.

• Enterprise wireless networks. All sites we support use Extricom, Rukus or Ubiqiti enterprise wireless solutions. Knowledge of how wireless systems provide blanket coverage and their configuration would be useful.

• Mass deployment and management of mobile technology. We look after nearly 1800 iPads, Android and other mobile devices. These are managed with cloud based solutions to deploy apps and lock the devices down. An understanding of configuring mobile devices and deploying volume licenses would be required.

• A good knowledge of cloud based services. Our company uses cloud services, we manage our schools’ devices with cloud services and educational and management services are supplied to our schools via the cloud. You would need to maintain these systems, so an understanding of this technology would be required.

• Web design and basic programming skills. We supply websites to schools and maintain them. A knowledge of basic website construction and editing would be useful.

• IWBs, projector servicing, sound and vision systems. Every classroom and every hall has interactive technology fitted, a sound system and projection or LCD/LED systems. Knowledge of servicing, maintaining and calibrating this equipment is required.

• Interest in emerging technologies and pushing the boundaries. Schools are always pushing the boundaries; you will need to demonstrate your desire to keep up with new and emerging technologies.

• An understanding of how technology is used in a teaching and learning environment. You will be working entirely in Primary Schools and will therefore need to understand how schools use technology to teach and manage.
