KSR Electronic Systems has an exciting opportunity for an IT Technician to join our team in Swansea, South Wales, working within its high volume automated assembly environment. The role is a full time, permanent position offering a salary of £18,000 - £23,000 per annum plus benefits.
For more than 50 years, KSR has been an industry leader in designing, engineering and manufacturing adjustable and fixed pedal modules, food and hand-operated parking brakes, electronic throttle controls and an increasingly wide variety of high performance electronic automotive sensors, and power control modules.
The IT Technician role is primarily to maintain proper computer operations in line with corporate standards. Ensuring end users are able to accomplish their business tasks in both office and manufacturing environments. This function includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. The applicant will be required to learn and support the company’s systems, applications and databases including bespoke manufacturing and reporting systems Using MS SQL and .Net technologies.
Main Responsibilities of the IT Technician:
- Provide fast and friendly tech support to end-users.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level.
- Train users how to use new systems.
- Install hardware, software and configuring systems and applications.
- Maintaining and eventually developing the company systems.
Education and Experience required by the IT Technician:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2 years equivalent work experience.
- Sound knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Experience with windows based desktop and server operating systems.
- Application support experience with Microsoft Office products including outlook.
- Good understanding of basic networking principles.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Programming experience ideally C#.Net, VB.Net, VBA/Macros (advantageous)
- Database experience ideally MS SQL, MY SQL, MS Access (advantageous)
