Technical Team Leader

Salary 26k – 34k depending on experience and qualifications
The role of the Technical Team Leader
The team leader is the glue that keeps the helpdesk together. You should be highly organised, personable and knowledgeable in all aspects of the helpdesks core business. The role is highly customer facing and requires a professional demeanour at all times. Your key responsibilities are to:
• Identify areas where training is required and agree and manage KPI’s and performance based targets for the team
• Look at ways to improve efficiency within the team and have regular ‘time for reflection’ meetings with all members of the team
• Run the project management of some of the larger projects, this will tend to be PC rollouts, VOIP installations, essentially projects within the firm that require more manpower
• Monitoring and continued development of call escalation and ensure fair call distribution between the team
• Assist technically on the helpdesk to a 2nd or 3rd line capacity
• Responsible for site visits for all members of staff and visit clients sites as and when required
• Making sure that all staff members keep their jobs queue up-to-date, use the script when answering the phone, log calls, prioritise them and give out reference numbers
What do you need to be a successful Technical Team Leader?
• It is essential that you display good people and project management skills
• Have an advanced understanding of Microsoft technologies
• Be able to demonstrate a good working ethos and generally be the pivotal part of the service desk that keeps things running
• A good understanding of network technologies, VOIP, Linux and general hardware would be desirable
