The role
If you have an analytical mind set and a wealth of risk related knowledge, this challenging, collaborative and engaging role as Senior Audit Manager across Finance could be ideal for you. Based in Manchester as a Senior Audit Manager, you'll have the opportunity to gain valuable exposure to stakeholders at a senior level, and have a significant impact on the development of our new audit function, minimising any potential risk for the bank. This role also offers extensive variety, as your responsibilities will cover a wide scope of specialised risk areas.
You'll give independent engagement assurance through leading the Finance division as well as providing effective project management. Using your influencing skills you'll help our business managers improve control within the organisation. This is a great opportunity to get involved with hands on project management. We'll also look to you to share your expertise by coaching and developing team members.
Leading and undertaking assurance planning and fieldwork, you'll take responsibility for the work being delivered on time, fit for purpose and providing reliable evidence to support issues and opinion. You'll supervise the engagement team members through your effective coaching, enabling them to realise their potential.
You'll contribute to and drive outputs in relation to Internal Audit strategic initiatives, and effectively lead high profile engagements which have the potential to add significant business value, including the effective planning of the engagement ensuring it is appropriately scoped, scheduled and resourced to manage the prompt and effective response to ad hoc business requests.
As well as this, you'll effectively manage stakeholders within engagement to ensure sufficient understanding of business risks with open and effective discussion on key issues
About you
We're looking for a highly motivated and analytically minded leader with a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills. As a Senior Audit Manager you'll have a solid background in project management, possessing competence in delivering projects on time and within budget.
Your significant technical knowledge of core operational processes, will compliment your thorough understanding of risk management, which will have ideally been gained in a banking environment, for example Mortgage Operations, AML or Sanctions screening. Whichever background you come from, you'll have definitely had experience in a service organisation with a strong customer focus, in internal audit or risk technology, with experience supporting payments technology. You will have a strong grasp of IFRS and current accounting practice and an understanding of core treasury and ALM processes would be an advantage.
Finally, to be successful, you'll have a relevant qualification in audit such as CISA (Certificate Automated Systems Auditor) or ACCA (Association of Certified Accountants).
What you'll get in return
* Upon joining the team you will receive an attractive reward package plus the opportunity to participate in a bonus scheme linked to helping our customers and the success of the business
* Your pay in Williams & Glyn will be made up of two different elements: Your salary and benefit allowance of 22% of salary
* Generous holiday allocation of 30 days per year plus bank holidays (pro rata for hours worked)
* A flexible reward package designed to benefit you as an individual - our benefits programme is designed to help you get the most from your monthly and pay and offers you a range of benefits.
