JOB TITLE Freight Forwarder

LOCATION Preston

SALARY £24,000 to £29,000 plus bonus (Depending on experience)

This exciting opportunity is based at the head office of GBA Services, one of the UK’s largest European dedicated express transport providers. You will be part of a team responsible for operating and developing existing Key Accounts, and for nurturing and developing future accounts.

The Job:

The position will involve planning of equipment and resources in the most cost effective way, arranging sub-contractors as and when required, implementing the scheduled plan by liaising closely with the drivers and the Depot Manager.

Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate will have a logistics background ideally within express freight and experience managing customer expectations and developing sales. Strong Leadership and Communication skills are essential. Applicants must have previous experience of working towards KPI’s and recording information accurately and to tight deadlines. Ideally you will have knowledge of Tachograph and European regulations.

Essential

• Knowledge of Express Airfreight

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems

• Monthly Profit and Loss

• Financial awareness and excellent planning skills

• Purchasing and Logistics expertise

• Excellent influencing skills and the ability to manage customer expectations

• Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative

• Proven track record of pro-active sales generation

• Ability to work to a structured price guide and demonstrate negotiation skills

Desirable

• An additional European language (German or French)

• ADR (Hazardous goods) awareness
