Engineering Manager

Position: Engineering Manager UK & Ireland – Formwork 

Location: Manchester

Salary: c. £60,000 – c. £80,000 + Bonus & Car

Hours of Work: Full Time

The Company:

Since the launch of their Formwork business in 1993, our clients UK business has grown and evolved from a standing start to achieving market leader status in 2007. Due to a combination of the “slow down” in 2008, and some internal reorganisation, the business stepped backwards significantly until its re-launch in 2012. This has seen the business come from a very low position to 3^rd in the market.

The Formwork business in the UK has always been an “add-on” to the main scaffold business in the UK. However, a strategic change in direction has seen the business renamed, and become a true and established Formwork company with global status.

The task over the next 3 years is to re-establish itself in the UK and Ireland as market leader, and complete the integration with the European and Global business.

The Engineering Manager Role:

• The Engineering Manager will have a proven and certificated background in Engineering to Charter Status
• The Engineering Manager will demonstrate a strong organisational and people management development background and skillset
• The Engineering Manager will demonstrate a strong mind set to be at the heart of the “bid process” to win work and deliver outstanding customer service
• The Engineering Manager will have a strong work ethic driven by results and will demand this attribute from all of their team, and the person will take strong and decisive action to address non-performance
• The Engineering Manager will apply full activity and resources to the ongoing integration of the UK & Ireland business with Global strategy and objectives

Overview of The Ideal Candidate & Remuneration:

Tier 1 – UK Manager (Director Designate):

This person will have all the attributes and skills to do the role but will need an 18 Month period to settle in and earn Director status. Basic salary will be c£60,000 + Bonus & Car

Tier 2 – UK Director:

This person will be able to run Engineering with limited support and overseeing after an initial period of induction. Basic salary will be c.£80,000 + Bonus & Car
