Venue Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to maximize income from our Grade II listed events venue in the heart of Cardiff. You will have significant sales experience and will be able to manage all aspects of the venue and events, giving excellent customer service and developing new markets. This is an exciting opportunity to realize the venue’s significant potential for growth.

  • £27,123-£30,178 depending on experience, with potential for performance-related bonuses for exceeding targets
  • Full time (37 hours per week)

  • 1 year contract, with potential for permanent contract if performance is satisfactory

Summary of Role

The WCIA is based in the Temple of Peace and Health near the centre of Cardiff. We have a long-term lease on several offices, a large hall and a meeting room which we hire out to generate core income for the charity. The hall is the main focus for income generation.

The Venue Manager will be solely responsible for creating and delivering a vision for a Grade II listed venue – an exciting opportunity to realise the venue’s significant potential for growth.

The post-holder will be responsible for all aspects of venue management, sales and marketing, giving excellent customer service and ensuring a professional image of the Temple is projected at all times. They will deliver against challenging targets by proactively seeking new customers and overseeing all aspects of bookings, including managing venue caretakers, liaising with suppliers, tracking enquiries and reporting regularly on performance. A creative approach to developing new venue packages for business and private customers is essential. The role also involves looking after a small number of office tenants.
