Working for a family run, well established business, the Business Development Manager will be key to the future success of the business. Working closely with the Directors, the Business Development Manager will work on a new business venture. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to forge a career within a market leader.
It is essential that you possess experience within a Business Development Manager role, having gained a broad exposure to various business models. You should have an entrepreneurial approach, be flexible to work above and beyond the “standard” working day and possess exceptional standards and pride in your own work. You will be forward thinking and proactive in approach and possess a good level of computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
The company deal with the purchasing and distribution of luxury, high-end products, offering a bespoke service to clients. Well-established and family-run, the company are keen to employ a like-minded Business Development Manager to drive the business forward.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 830-5 (flexible to the needs of the business)
Role:
The Business Development Manager will be working closely with Directors to establish, develop and maximise opportunities within a new business venture. Targetting specific markets, you will take full responsibility for the success of the project, ensuring full reporting to the Directors as to key business milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing both existing and new business opportunities, working with a diverse range of clients from SMEs to global organizations
- Telemarketing of existing and potential clients to expand business, identifying new opportunities within defined areas
- Maintaining regular contact with existing client base, adopting an account management approach
- Arranging and attending business meetings with clients to introduce the full range of services
- Negotiation of fees with clients and Preferred/Sole Supplier contracts
Essential Skills:
- The ability to manage both existing client accounts and identify and develop new business opportunities
- The drive and tenacity to achieve targets and goals, whilst maintaining the highest possible service standards
- A flexible approach to problem solving within a professional business environment
- Project management skills, with the self motivation to work independently
- Organised way of working, able to manage several key projects/tasks at one time to meet strict deadlines
- An honest approach, ensuring that any commitments to candidates and clients are met and expectations are managed effectively
- The ability to work on your own initiative, be forward thinking and have a desire to learn
- You must have excellent oral and written communication skills
