SMCU Head Office Caerphilly
Hours:
37 Hours per week, Monday – Saturday (worked over 6 days)
Main Purpose:
To be responsible for efficient and effective financial administration and contribute to continuous improvements of all services.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:
- Financial administration in line with SMCU policies,
- Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Prudential Regulation
- Authority (PRA) and Board requirements.
- Preparation of Financial Management Information both internally and externally.
- Contribute to compliance with all statutory and legal reporting requirements including financial returns to the FCA and PRA
- Ensure grant claims are prepared and submitted to deadlines as required.
- Preparation of budgets and financial planning where appropriate, and monitoring of budgets on a regular basis.
- Ensure lending policies and procedures are kept up to date and within the appropriate legal frameworks.
- Bank reconciliation
- Grant loans in accordance with current policies
- Process standing orders, benefits, payroll deductions and other daily transactions
Other Terms and Conditions:
- Work within SMCCU values, ethos and vision
- Attendance at finance and team meetings
- Occasional attendance at Board meeting
- Contribute to the development of SMCU
The post-holder will be expected to:
- Work in accordance with SMCU policies and procedures.
- Identify and attend relevant training as required.
- Work in accordance with all relevant legislation.
- Undergo regular supervision and annual appraisal.
- Undergo a CRB check as required.
The post-holder will be based at SMCCU’s Head Office, but will be expected to undertake travel across SMCCU area of interest on a regular basis.
Employment will be based upon a 37 hour working week, normally within office hours, although occasional attendance at evening and weekend meetings will be required.
