Project Manager ( 4 month contract)

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to work initially on a 4 month contract. You will be based as part of a busy and successful team and you will understand the pre-construction process and be able to manage and organise the design phase of a project. The successful candidate will come from:

• Preferably from a joinery background
• Preferably IOSH & CSCS qualified
• SSSTS or SMSTS an advantage
• Track record of successful projects
• Understands the pre-construction process
• Can organise and manage the design phase of a project and scheduling of programme
• Familiarity with latest CDM regulations
• Office based but with weekly travel to sites, involving staying away from home
• Full driving licence

The Role

The Project Manager will work in a team supporting projects nationwide:

• Creating programme of works
• Setting up site activities.
• Managing Health & Safety on site.
• The recruitment/appointment of sub-contract labour and specialist contractors
• Record keeping during projects including progression of works.
• Preparations of a programme of work, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Managing sub-contractor performance.
• Ensure quality standards are met
• Cost and implement contract variations and ensure margins are maintained
• Managing projects on multiple sites to ensure a professional implementation process and to deliver the anticipated margin.
• Liaise with clients to update progress and resolve any issues which occur on site
• Liaison with client, main contractors, suppliers and other members of the project team to ensure timely progress
• On completion, arrange for handovers, post contract meetings, certification, operations manuals etc and the preparation of invoices.
