The Engineering Training Centre (formally known as Rolls-Royce North East Training Centre), part of the British Engines Group, is an approved training provider in Newcastle upon Tyne, which has been training apprentices for over 100 years. Engineering Training Centre offers a range of training in mechanical, fabrication, electrical and general engineering including apprenticeship schemes and workforce training, for engineering businesses throughout the North East.

The role
The Maintenance Training Instructor will report to the Training Centre Manager and work as part of a team, general responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Delivering a programme of training to candidates/trainees ensuring they reach the required standard
• Supervision of candidates/trainees while they are on company premises, maintaining discipline
• Keep up to date on Health and Safety legislation requirements
• Provide inductions on skill requirements, including advice of hazards specific to the skill to be instructed and instructions on safe methods of work
• Providing information, instruction and training to allow candidates/trainees to achieve their personal target/goal
• Monitoring candidates/trainees progress, ensuring all documents and evidence is available to the Internal/External Verifier 

What do you need to be successful?
The successful Maintenance Training Instructor will possess previous industry experience. With experience of working in a multi-skilled maintenance function. You will also need:
• Preferably to be A1 / PTTLS qualified with the ability to teach electrical qualifications
• Prior teaching experience at PEO NVQ level 2 is also a desirable competency, however, candidates with previous experience of mentoring or on the job training of apprentices will also be considered 
• To be competent in the use of ICT and be a keen team player 
• The ability to adapt your teaching styles to develop learner understanding within the delivering subject
• Demonstrable experience within a reputable training environment is also a distinct advantage as is experience in hydraulics/pneumatics
