Roly Poley's Nursery has an exciting opportunity for a Early Years Educator to join the team based in Middleton, Manchester. You will be on a permanent, full time contract with a highly competitive salary.

We are located in Middleton centre, behind the Arndale Centre. Near the bus station. We provide high quality child care for children aged from six months to five years.

A great opportunity has arisen in the above Nursery to work with this hard working, fun and friendly team and provide high quality care and education to the children in your care. The Nursery is looking for an experienced Early Years Educator, Early Years Graduate or HLTA to join our team and lead the practice in the preschool provision. Support and incentives will be available for the successful candidate to continue their training and achieve Early Years Teacher Status.

(This role requires a NNEB, BTEC, NVQ 3, CACHE, and a BA, Hons, Foundation Degree, NVQ 4, HLTA, or equivalent childcare qualification)

The role description includes:

  • To be responsible for leading practice to ensure high standards of care and education of children in the pre school in accordance with statutory requirements and to maintain a minimum good Ofsted grade
  • To ensure the EYFS is promoted and delivered to a high standard within the pre school to ensure outcomes for children and families are improved
  • Reflect upon your practice to ensure a continuous high level of quality childcare.
  • Build effective relationships with our parents.
  • With your staff team, deliver a programme of exciting play opportunities and activities suitable to the age range and developmental needs of the children in your room which will motivate their learning and integration within the nursery.
  • To ensure that a caring and stimulating environment is provided for children that takes into account individual developmental needs and enables children to reach their full potential
  • Keep well-informed of legislation, guidelines and policies to ensure the Children’s Act and the Early Years Foundation Stage Welfare Requirements are met at all times.
  • Support staff and engage in the development of a strong, knowledgeable staff team.
  • To ensure that the nursery conforms to and exceeds the requirements of Ofsted.
  • To ensure that the nursery consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum good standard.
  • To help and support students/volunteers on placement.
  • To implement and maintain the company’s equality policy ensuring that children, parents and the staff team are valued and practice is positive and non-discriminatory.
  • To monitor any safeguarding issues following nursery and local authority procedures.
  • Prepare the pre school for Ofsted inspections and action any recommendations made by the inspector ensuring a minimum good grade is awarded.
