Design Engineer

About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our Major Projects team to work in Hinckley Point, Bristol.



What you'll be doing
As a Design Engineer you will be:

• working with the Lead Design Engineer to ensure that the design and engineering deliverables meet the client specifications and comply with project objectives
• establishing and maintaining both the extensive cable containment network and the cable routing requirements in strict compliance with the EDF cabling specification and the French nuclear installation rules
• assisting with CDM reviews of the client cable containment designs to ensure compliance with the CDM regulations and enhancing the constructability of the installation

Who we're looking for
You will have:

• HNC/HND in electrical engineering
• a membership of a professional body such as the IET
• an appreciation of NEC3 contract terms and conditions
• a proactive attitude; adaptable approach and good communication skills
• a working knowledge of CDM 2015; designer's duties and an overall knowledge of site safety
• the ability to work collaboratively in a multidiscipline and multinational design team environment
