Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to join an award winning company based in Liverpool!

The company is an award winning company and one of the largest in its sector with over 20 years’ experience of installing and maintaining heating, renewable technology and insulation system in thousands of homes.

Job Description

Your role will involve managing a team of 15 field sales professionals to achieve monthly and annual sales targets. 

Main duties and responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Set individual sales target with each team member, monitor performance & improve performance where required;
  • Provide remote sales support on a daily basis to field based team;
  • Execute weekly sales meeting with field based team, including performance reporting;
  • Improve sales process, objection handling and deal closure ratios;
  • Gather information from field based team in respect to lost opportunities for sales process improvement;
  • Oversee field sales team usage of CRM system to ensure accurate reporting information;
  • Manage overall sales pipeline and direct team towards the achievement of short & long term sales targets;
  • Ensure that the sales team have the appropriate resources & training to complete their role;
  • Plan and potentially execute field sales team training;
  • As required, recruit, train & integrate (company culture) new field sales staff.

Strategy & Reporting

  • Develop, complete & present (on a monthly basis) a suite of performance reports (actual & forecast) to The Board (Managing Director, Commercial Director, Operations Director);
  • Develop a sales strategy to achieve company sales objectives;
  • Discuss sales strategy in respect to price variances, competition analysis, sales cycle, seasonal factors to improve service offering & implement change.

Cross Function Activity

  • Liaise with Call Centre Manager to ensure that appropriately qualified sales leads are generated & programmed for field sales staff;
  • Liaise with Programme Manager to ensure that our service is delivered as per client expectations;
  • Liaise with Technical Support Team as required to resolve any technical issues in respect to an opportunity. 

Candidate Requirement (Essential)

  • Degree (min 2.1)
  • Experience of managing & directing field based sales teams;
  • Experience of selling in the home (particularly home improvements);
  • Experience of selling / managing field based team under FCA guidelines;
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management;
  • Relevant product & industry knowledge;
  • Experience of reporting to a Board of Directors;
  • Strong IT & reporting capability.
