Purpose of role:
To work in the Technical Service/Laboratory department to provide assistance and support to the Technical Manager and Technical Service Manager in testing, developing and accessing a wide variety of paint products and raw materials.

The apprentice will have no direct staff responsibility.

Duties to include:

• Routine testing of paint products
• Preparing samples
• Operating a wide variety of equipment for dispersing and colour assessment
• Maintaining good written and accurate records
• Visual colour measurement
• Modifying materials to meet customer criteria 
• Safety checks
• Comparing various raw materials for replacements
• Comparing competitors’ products
• Developing and testing new products
• Use of lab equipment.
• Quality Control testing
• Complying with Health and Safety requirements

Qualifications Required   

GCSE Grade C or above in Maths, English & Science or equivalent.
