Due to expansion an exciting opportunity has arisen within Jigsaw Training for a Regional Operations Manager. This is an exciting time for Jigsaw Training as we are an ambitious organisation with a clear vision for growth and a strong sense of values.


Overall Purpose of the Role

The post holder will be responsible for effectively leading, managing and supporting all tutors and sites within their region to ensure every individual employee is maximising their potential and that everyone is working together to achieve the best outcome for our learners. Provide operational leadership of the region to ensure the delivery of national and local targets. Ensure a high quality learning and assessment experience of all learners is consistently achieved and client satisfaction not only met but exceeded. The building of client relationships and new business in an anticipated high growth period. This will include creating operational plans as well as ensuring quality is managed and delivery supports the business strategy, goals and objectives.

Person Specification: Knowledge, Skills and Experience;

  • Leading the Operational team, ensuring confident leadership, whilst at the same time engaging with and involving the team in decision making processes
  • People Management experience (including Recruitment, Performance Management Disciplinary, Grievances & dealing with Poor Performance)
  • Experience within a work based learning delivery (funded) environment
  • Leadership of multi-disciplinary teams across several sites
  • Managing in a target driven environment
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the SFA, Awarding Organisations and Ofsted
  • Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Framework and Standards
  • Comprehension of the learning and assessment process
  • Numerate, with experience of setting and managing targets/ budgets
  • Employment Law, as related to the practical management of people
  • Experience of dealing with External Regulators
  • Ability to interpret financial profile statistic and manage trends
  • Ability to deliver presentations to external stakeholders
  • Aptitude to influence, motivate and build trust
  • Project management experience advantageous
  • Competent user of MS Office packages; excellent IT literacy
  • Commercially astute, recognising  the link between service provision and business development

Essential

  • Extensive experience within the funded Work based Learning environment at Supervisory/ Management level
  • Leadership of teams in a target driven environment
  • Ability to interpret and analyse statically; data and profiling
  • Knowledge of Apprenticeship Framework, Funding rules & Common Inspection Framework
  • Managed individual performance, promoting CPD and effectively addressing under performance
  • Report writing skills at senior level
  • Strong administration & planning skills
  • Able to effectively prioritise; managing conflicting and competing priorities
  • Ability to coach and develop people and the business
  • Strategic Thinking
  • High energy level - able to collaborate across teams to achieve a common goal
  • Competent user of MS Office packages; excellent IT literacy
  • Experience of budget control  

Desirable

  • Experience of assessing /coaching within a ‘Work Based’ learning environment with experience of apprenticeship frameworks including Functional Skills
  • Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Reforms and Employer Levy
  • Working with Director level stakeholders

  • The post holder’s duties will require them to be able to travel and stay across all parts of the UK for meetings/activities which may occasionally extend beyond normal office hours.
