 ICT Assistant - Cardiff - 18 Months Fixed Term Contract

37 hours per week

Salary £21,913.00 per annum - plus benefits

Linc has a fantastic opportunity for an ICT Assistant to join our busy and thriving ICT team.

Reporting to the ICT Operations Manager, the successful applicant will play a key role in providing a comprehensive ICT system support service. Key tasks include:

  • Provide 1st line support to all internal customers; recording and resolving helpdesk incidents and accelerating calls to 2nd and 3rd line support as appropriate.
  • Install, upgrade and support workstations and peripheral devices as required
  • Assist in the deployment of new systems and provide one to one support for new systems.
  • Perform daily and routine system housekeeping tasks including the monitoring of events and system backups.
  • Assist ICT staff to maintain asset records and make recommendations regarding equipment replacement/disposal and support agreement renewal. Perform audit checks of all ICT assets and report anomalies.
  • Assist in ensuring systems are secure, scalable and perform appropriately. Report all incidences of security breach, computer miss-use and virus incursion.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a support / customer service environment, supporting users of Microsoft Operating systems and MS Office applications.

Experience of ITIL or equivalent and knowledge of desktop technologies, printer technologies (and communication methods), MS Office, email and web client applications, and network topologies is also essential.

You will need to build strong working relationships with colleagues across the business and third party support agencies therefore the ability to communicate effectively to different audiences will be key.
