The Greenfield Group is seeking to appoint a Production / Project Engineer. This is a newly created role and will be serving the industrial businesses KnitMesh Technologies Ltd and Elmac Technologies Ltd.

The main responsibilities of the role will include (but not limited to):

Specification of new equipment (including tooling) including liaison with internal departments and suppliers
Introduction of new equipment and processes, including “hands on” commissioning
Optimisation of new and existing processes to minimise cycle time and cost, while ensuring product quality. This will require both “hands on” and desk work

Support maintenance team with fault diagnosis and subsequent design changes / improvements to equipment
Develop technical systems, manuals and produce work instructions for manufacturing equipment.
Product testing and report preparation, including customer reports
Produce technical documentation as required

The ideal candidate will possess the following personal skill set:

Competent user of CAD (Autocad or Solidworks preferred)
Practical experience able to operate and adjust production machinery
Basic workshop skills (hand tools, simple power tools, preferably simple machine tools)
Capability to analyse data and identify underlying relationships
MS Office (especially Excel) skills
PLC awareness (program edit) would be an advantage
Proactive, energetic and comfortable working with employees at all levels
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Experience in the automotive industry would be an advantage
Engineering qualification (degree, HND or similar)
At least 2 years’ experience of working in an engineering environment
