Science Teacher

A forward thinking and progressive Secondary Academy in a popular suburb of Plymouth is looking for applications from Good and Outstanding Teachers of Science. The position will start in September 2016 and will be a 12 month fixed term contract. The School draws students not only from the local catchment area, but an increasing number of applications from a wider area due to it?s growing popularity and improving results. There is some flexibility in the department therefore specialists in Chemistry, Biology and Physics would be considered. The department is strong, experienced and established and willing to support colleagues at the beginning of their career, but would also welcomed experienced practitioners.

I'm Ben, I look after all of the Secondary Teachers and Support Staff here in our Plymouth Office, we cover all of Devon and Cornwall from this office. I have been here for 3 and a half years now, I have a good understanding of the local schools and academies. I work with over 40 Secondary schools and around 80 Teachers on a week by week basis to provide everything from day to day cover, to shortlisting for permanent roles and filling contract and long term vacancies.

I'm passionate about helping the schools we work with, often the cover we provide has a direct bearing on the progress of the students. This means that the teachers we send are as important as the teachers that work at the school. When you register with me as a new teacher we will talk about not only what you want to do now, but what your long term aspirations are. I will work with you to establish a professional network within the schools of your choice, positioning you perfectly should you be seeking longer term or contract work.
