EBD Primary Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant required to support secondary aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues (SEMH)

Responsibilities:

- act as positive role model and behaviour mentor.

- carry out pastoral tasks relating to your assigned group.

- adhere to school policies and procedures.

- promote inclusiveness and a safe, fun and secure environment.

- support pupils with learning and aim to increase attainment as well as social and emotional outcomes.

Requirements:

- previous experience of working with children with challenging behaviour either in an education, youth work or care setting.
- resilience in challenging situations.
- calmness under pressure.
- ability to build rapport with young people and not take things personally.
- full time availability.
- flexibility to travel (drivers preferable but not essential).
- adaptable and willing to take on a variety of tasks.

You don't need to have been a TA in the past but you may be from a youth work, care, or education background and have transferrable skills. If you have done Team Teach Positive Handling training in the last 2 years that would also be beneficial but not essential.
