A Finance Manager is urgently required to join this well-established National asset and energy services group.
Based in their Liverpool office this is a key role within a divisional and wider group finance team.
Job Purpose:
- To oversee the general Finance Functions within a busy accounts department.
- Lead a team of Finance Administrators to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial information
- Have overall responsibility for the Finance Function in the absence of the Financial Controller
Key duties / responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger
- Work with the Assistant Accountant to manage the purchase ledger process and workload of the purchase ledger team.
- Overall responsibility for finance administrators
- Manage Month end close process for the business unit.
Sales Ledger Client Invoicing
- Manage the sales ledger team to ensure invoices are produced accurately and within required deadlines
- Set up new client accounts and meet with clients to ensure invoice processes meet requirements.
- WIP reports are issued to the relevant managers and followed up, with actions forwarded to senior management as required.
- Manage Month end close process for the business unit
Credit Control
- Supervise and provide support to the Credit Controller.
- Overall responsibility for cash collection targets being met
Job Costing
- Ensure that financial data entered into job costing is accurate.
- Liaise with contract managers to make adjustments where necessary
- Assist with production of monthly contract profit reports with commentary
Reporting
- Cash flow forecasting
- Assisting in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Produce weekly and monthly debtor and WIP reports
- Assisting in the production of monthly management accounts to strict deadlines
- Other ad-hoc reports as and when required
Team Leading / Development
- Responsible for supervising and developing team
- Will maintain own personal development and area of professional competency
- Conduct annual appraisals of team
- Work with HR to manage team effectively and within company policies
Other
- Drive revenue and cost initiatives to support achievement of budgeted profit and cashflow.
- On-going process improvements
- Act as point of contact for finance software provider to rectify system issues
- Any other duties commensurate with post.
Required skills / experience:
- Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA or equivalent.
- Experience in producing management accounts to board report level
- Management of staff / team leading experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Spread sheet design and data manipulation
- Highly self-motivated and driven
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete tasks
- Ability to work under pressure to tight time scales
- Good attention to detail
- Highly numerate
- Commercially aware.
