Data Architect - (Data Solutions Architect)
Location: Birmingham - 12 month FTC
Salary: £60000 - £65000 per annum + Fantastic Benefits
A leading FTSE 50 provider of IT solutions and services are looking to hire a talented Data Architect for their rapidly expanding office in Birmingham.
The Data Architect will be responsible for understanding the data and information landscape, tools, techniques and possibilities of clients information assets. You will be responsible for the integrated solution design across all streams of a project or program and will assist in defining the strategic direction for enterprise technology, both internally and with clients.
Responsibilities for the Data Architect:
* Identify, understand and quantify solution and technical risks, and advise on strategies to mitigate those risks
* Support the project / program managers in understanding the technical risks, dependencies and issues that exist, quantify these and the impact that they may have on the project / programme
* Ensure that all the agreed business requirements to be satisfied by the project are implemented in the overall solution and are compatible with the projects technical architecture
* Leverage and influence change program to develop/enhance the standards, policies/guidelines whilst driving adoption of standards
* Conformance to the ISO accreditation processes
Experience for the Data Architect:
* Demonstrable experience of working in a Data Intelligence, Information Analyst, Data Scientist role demonstrating proven leadership and coordination skills
* Experience in an analytical / algorithm/ data role, especially in public sector environments
* Experience of working with data visualization tools and packages
* Experience of designing data management solutions and supporting their practical implementation
* An excellent understanding and delivery of enterprise, technical and solution architecture within a business transformation environment, project environment
* Experience of technology architecture governance and assurance management
* Significant experience in a technical solution role with a strong focus on applications, information or infrastructure with hands on experience of coordinating different technical streams of a project or program
* Ideally broad knowledge of software infrastructure technologies in the current market place with emphasis on IBM, SAP, Microsoft, Oracle and EMC technologies
* Ideally demonstrable in-depth experience in more than one of the following; Application Architecture / development, Data architecture, Unix or Wintel Architecture, Virtualisation, Enterprise management systems (IBM Tivoli) or IBM Storage Architecture. Web technologies
* Experience of designing and implementing solutions as part of major project or multi-stream programme/lifecycle
* Knowledge of ITIL/ISO standards
* Ideally demonstrable awareness and practical experience of implementing architectural principles and techniques using the TOGAF9 or other framework
* Effective and clear communicator to technical and non-technical audiences
