Data Migration Engineer

The Data Migration Engineer is a key role within the development team and critical to enable the company to achieve their growth plans. They are responsible for data migration and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle and will oversee and continually improve the migration process for new projects.

Responsibilities:

- The extraction, transformation and loading of data from various sources into the groups systems.
- The candidate will not only help migrate clients onto the groups platforms but also help create and maintain migration tools and provide excellent technical support.
- You will work with project managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate complex issues effectively to development team members.
- You will interact with clients and gather requirements, work in a fast paced environment with time sensitive projects to allow clients to move to the companies' systems with minimal impact on operations
- You will act as the Servicing data migration subject matter expert for clients. Oversee and ensure Data migration tasks and project related tasks are carried out in cost effective manner in accordance with client expectations as well as provide technical expertise to bid responses.
- Build technical solutions strategically with a view to known future prospects and implementations.
- The role ensure roles & responsibilities are clearly defined to enable team leaders to cost projects accurately as well as implement project initiatives to agreed requirements, timescales and within 10% of estimates and ensure management is made aware if costs exceed initial estimates.
- Identify opportunities to enhance software services within client systems and improve business efficiencies.
- Working with the technical strategy and Product Consultants, to ensure solutions meet strategic objectives.
- Set the technical scope of the business requirements. Attend and provide walkthroughs of the technical solution for all stakeholders.
- Working with the project manager, identify technical work streams and contribute to the project planning.

The candidate will be familiar with Data Analysis techniques with knowledge of risk, issue identification & management. Understands how Data Mapping and transformation fits into the migration process

Experience with the software engineering life cycle for development and concepts and practices required to implement IT solutions. Educated to degree level or equivalent with experience of working with Agile development methodology.
