The Developer is responsible for the interpretation and conversion of functional specifications into detail design and testing plans resulting in the writing of maintainable code. To achieve this they will have to ensure that the company standards and processes are used. The role also requires interaction with other developers to ensure common understanding of the required solution to be achieved.

Responsibilities:

- The developer takes part in client/user meetings and presents issues and solutions. Assisting clients/users in defining acceptance tests for automated systems, in a thorough and reliable manner as well as identifying and solving customer problems within the time allocated. The developer is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of activity diaries.
- The candidate will develop large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied program specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
- The developer will work with colleagues to investigate and model business functions, processes, information flows and data structures, using methodical and consistent technique as well as create program/technical specifications as required.
- They will provide support for existing systems, carrying out investigative work and performing software changes to resolve issues.
- Plan, design and conduct tests of programs; correct errors and re-test to achieve an error free result. Software Delivery Lifecycle followed, deviations highlighted and corrective actions owned through to completion

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the software engineering life cycle for development and the concepts and practices required to implement effective IT solutions. Experience will have been gained by working in a commercial environment. Educated to degree level or equivalent (a computing discipline to HND (merit or distinction) or equivalent.

Salary will be based on relevant knowledge, skills and experience.

Experience working with Agile development methodology and experience ideally in financial and/or insurance sector.
