Job Title: 2nd Line / 3rd Line IT Support Engineer

Salary: £18,000 - £25,000 + Expenses + Overtime + Pension

Our client, a leading managed service provider based in Leigh, Lancashire, are pleased to offer this challenging but exciting 2nd Line / 3rd Line IT Support Engineer position, due to sustained business growth.

You will be an experienced, self-motivated, and enthusiastic IT professional.

Your Responsibilities as a 2nd Line / 3rd Line IT Support Engineer will include:

  • Work with the team to respond and resolve support requests in order to meet our clients SLA's both remotely and on-site (Client facing).
  • Manage and monitor all devices and servers on our managed services platform to make sure that patches have been applied, Antivirus is up to date and most importantly that backups are working and that servers and workstations are in good health.
  • Maintain accurate records within our management information system.
  • Setting up and installing new equipment for customers including Servers, Workstations networking devices such routers and wireless access points.
  • Setting up new users and exchange accounts for our customers
  • Implement, maintain and manage Office 365 for new and existing customers. This will include planning and performing email migrations with the team to ensure those customers moving to 365 have seamless transition
  • Domain and web hosting management

Systems and technologies you will be working with and must have a good understanding of are:

  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • TCPIP/networking
  • MS Exchange
  • VPN
  • RAID
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policy
  • Desktop and Server Troubleshooting
  • Small business server, Server 2008, 2012
  • Windows XP, Windows 7/8/10 and Office 365.
