Job Role:
Our Client is the UK's leading waste-to-energy biodiesel producer and has always been privately owned. Their plant, near Motherwell in Scotland, started production in 2005 and represents an initial capital investment of around £17 million. This was supported by grants from the Scottish Executive and the European Union. The plant has been the focus of an EU project to develop and demonstrate biodiesel production using a mixture of animal tallow and used cooking oil rather than virgin oils.
They are currently looking to recruit for a Stock Management Accountant who will be responsible for managing, controlling, monitoring and reporting on stock balances (both for the Company and third party) held at their Oil Terminal and in Stanlow. You will be Supporting/ overseeing/ managing the internal reporting of P&L and BS for our Client.
This role is based at their Oils Terminal in Ellesmere Port (their storage, fuel blending and port access site).
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Responsibility for month end stock reconciliations and valuations for owned stocks.
- Weekly stock reconciliations for both owned and customers stocks.
- Maintaining stock ledger, posting stock receipts, purchase ledger and variances
- Ownership of the stock accounting process, ongoing maintenance and monthly reconciliation of stock
- Involvement in weekly, monthly and annual reporting and reconciliation processes
- Involvement in month end processes including relevant balance sheet account reconciliations
- Work alongside Operations and Sales to answer stock related queries
- Assist with the annual external audit
- Managing site duty requirements including W8 reconciliations and HO10 forms.
- Manage/Administer the hedging process for bulk fuel buying and selling/unwinding hedges
- Other support in relation to AOT accounting as and when required.

Qualifications/ Knowledge & Experience
Qualifications
- CA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant
Specific Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Stock management and accounting experience essential
- UK fuel experience required
Other Information:
- Will be responsible for two sites located at AOT and Stanlow. Occasional travel to the office in Motherwell may be required.
