Job Title: MRI Technician
Location: Cardiff / Newport / Bridgend area
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
Our client provides innovative logistics solutions along the supply chain for manufacturers of high-tech medical equipment that go beyond the scope of shipping and storage.
Job Role:
MRI Technicians report directly to the Operations Manager - Installation and Transport, and are responsible for delivering, unloading and mechanically installing MRI systems in hospitals, clinics and veterinary practices. MRI technicians should expect to be away from home, an average of four nights per week. Whilst MRI Technicians work predominately in the UK and Ireland, some European and International travel is expected.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver and unload MRI systems at site, ensuring that all Health and Safety requirements are fully met
- Checking delivered items against paperwork to ensure correct item has been delivered, without damage
- Mechanically installing MRI systems, to exacting standards and tolerances, whilst following detailed installation instructions and site drawings
- Provide excellent customer service to both customer and end user, whilst on site
- To submit all reports, Time Sheets and correspondence as instructed or in accordance with the company's procedures
- To ensure that where external communication is required the company's Public Relations profile is protected at all times
Secondary Duties:
- Undertake multi-skill and technical, as well as Health and Safety, training (within Europe) as necessary
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Operations Manager - Installation and Transport
The Candidate:
Essential
- A mechanical/electrical background, with experience in high quality handiwork and all-round skills together with a keen interest in learning new skills
- A positive, outgoing and customer service attitude
- Able to work independently and prepared to work away from home for up to two weeks at a time
- A clear understanding of Health and Safety importance
- Basic IT skills - Outlook, Word, Excel
- Full UK driving license
Desirable
- Formal electrical/mechanical qualifications
- Formal Health and Safety qualifications
- Previous experience in the installation of high end technical equipment
- Previous experience working within hospital environments
- An understanding of the German language
- Forklift truck license, both counterbalance and reach truck
