Business Analyst - Finance Systems
Liverpool
18-24 Month Fixed Term Contract
£28-33,000 per annum (depending on experience) + benefits
Trinity Mirror plc is looking for a Business Analyst to work with us on a project transforming our finance and reporting system, supporting the project team in the implementation of common finance systems which deliver synergy and drive the business forward.
Reporting into our Shared Services Director based in Liverpool, you will be responsible for working with the project team to help them develop and refine requirements. As part of the team, you will help to identify new processes and practices, find solutions to problems and carry out data analysis. You will also perform gap analysis and support the project team and users through the system implementation. Adhoc travel to our other sites will be required (expenses will be covered in line with our expenses policy).

You
You will be working with key stakeholders on the project team and our business users. You will be required to capture, analyse, refine and communicate / document their requirements, and have input into the new processes, system testing and delivery of the new system to the user community. Contributing to the development of the finance project, you will be a key member of the team leading the business analysis to continuously improve our project offering. Ideally, you will have worked in a finance environment (or similar) in a Business Analyst role and be familiar with documenting systems, flowcharts and gap analysis and will have experience of systems testing and implementation.
What you'll be doing
In order to succeed in this role you will:
- build and maintain effective working relationships with members of the project team and customers to understand the business environment and support delivery of business objectives;
- be familiar with documenting processes using tools such as Visio;
- analyse and evaluate workshop results;
- provide input into the design, development, testing and implementation of systems and processes, working with all areas of the business and documenting requirements in user-friendly language;
- Be able to understand the impact of new processes and practices on the business, and identify methods to support the users in these changes;
- Help develop user acceptance testing and the rollout of financial applications;
- have experience of the full project lifecycle and a good understanding of project roles / activities (technical and non-technical) required for successful delivery
- have experience of a variety of requirements gathering techniques, (e.g. interviews, questionnaires, user observation, workshops and prototyping)
