South Wales Chamber is the leading member-led organisation for SMEs in south, west and mid Wales. We help members achieve business success by providing dedicated relationship management, export support services, informative and entertaining business events, and policy representation to Welsh and UK governments.

We have a new President and a three-year growth strategy, and now we’re appointing a Director to lead our 20-strong staff team through an exciting phase of growth. Reporting to the board, the Director will be responsible for the delivery of our wide-ranging member services as well as marketing, events and policy advice. The Director will also provide executive support to the President and the work of the Chamber Territory Councils.

Based in Newport, but operating across the regions, the successful candidate will be commercially and politically astute and familiar with the challenges facing SMEs. He or she will understand the culture of a member-led organisation and have senior level experience in one or more relevant fields, such as marketing, policy or SME management. Excellent presentation, interpersonal and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to work flexibly including out of normal office hours.

In return, we offer a competitive remuneration package including a salary of circa £55,000, 25 days paid holiday and a non-contributory pension scheme.
