Management Accountant

This national training organisation are looking for a talented, pro-active, qualified or nearly qualified Accountant with a well-rounded background and looking for more responsibility in this head office environment. This is a key role in the Accounts function, providing vital support to the Financial Controller and managing the daily workload of a team of 4. You will be keen to use your initiative, have strong analytical skills, and will be well versed with Navision software and Excel. The organisation has an annual turnover of £30M+ and a headcount of about 80.

Strong communication skills and an outgoing nature are essential as this role will be liaising with non-finance management across the business. Ideally you will have previous experience of having successfully influenced senior personnel and decision making, and of having adopted a proactive approach to a business partnering role.

Duties Include:

- Monthly Management accounts and analysis
- Month-end processes incl accounts commentary, pensions, salaries,
- Levy revenue reconciliation
- System and process improvements
- Budget preparation and monitoring re-forecasting
- Financial ad hoc analysis to improve cost control in the business and understanding of accounts
- VAT returns
- Statutory returns to govt
- Year-end processes
- Audit planning and preparation
- Act as Navision systems administrator

Person Spec:

- ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified or nearly qualified
- Able to work to deadlines and deliver results
- Good organisation skills, able to multi-task
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and Navision.
- Strong communication skills, able to quickly build positive working relationships with others
- Good analytical and interpretation skills.
- Good written communication skills.
