The College:

I am currently recruiting a Plant Mechanic to join an award winning Plant Training Academy in one of the premier land-based Colleges located in South Cheshire with an enviable reputation for quality and partnerships with industry. The College has a beautiful rural setting situated amongst 330 hectares of farms, parklands, lake, woodland and sports facilities, including its own golf course.

You will:

  • be a highly skilled and motivated individual
  • be capable of managing and delivering outstanding theory and practical training and vocational assessment to over 250 Construction Plant Apprentices and full time students in all aspects of Plant Maintenance and heavy equipment systems, diagnostics and repairs
  • have an expert knowledge of Modern Plant Equipment
  • have a sound background, conducting diagnostics and repairs and be able to transfer that knowledge and skills to Plant Apprentices from across the UK
  • be capable of delivering and managing all aspects of the apprenticeship programme, ensuring each apprentice achieves their maximum potential
  • be able to demonstrate outstanding organisational skills
  • have a knowledge of Apprenticeship Frameworks and Awarding body requirements
  • have a sound Education or training background
  • have a Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance
  • have a full teaching Qualification or be willing to work towards one
  • have a certificate in Assessment or be willing to work towards one
  • have an IQA Certificate or be willing to work towards one
  • have a GCSE grade C minimum in Maths and English
  • be able to travel nationwide in order to conduct vocational assessments at employer's premises
  • have excellent organisational skills in order to manage a busy working day effectively
  • have excellent empathy skills in order to work with compassion and understanding when dealing with sensitive issues
