We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager for our logistics operation based in Stockton, Stockton on Tees. The secondment/Fixed Term Contract will be for an initial 6 month term, however this also has the potential to become permanent. We are seeking a strong and resilient leader who drives performance through people. You will engage, lead and develop your site leadership team to deliver excellent standards of service and availability for our customers, delivering against all site productivity, cost and performance targets.
Our Stockton Regional Distribution Centre is 250k sq ft with a span of control of over 600 colleagues. It delivers 1 million weekly cases – 1.5 million when we’re going flat out – and an annual turnover of £15 million, so it’s vital to have a Site Manager who thinks fast, on their feet, and often laterally to drive improvement and output. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Site Manager who increases performance through nurturing, coaching, engaging and encouraging the team to take a challenging but exciting journey.
You will:
• Manage people and performance proactively to meet stretching targets
• Engage the whole site management team and colleagues of all levels in logistics, finance, VMU, HR, external agencies, suppliers and retail management
• Manage costs, operational workload and ambitious change programmes
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement creative and sustainable solutions
We are looking for an experienced and credible people manager with IR negotiating experience, you’ll also need to have:
• Extensive operational site management in a logistics or manufacturing environment or a relevant area supplemented by training in logistics
• Experience in managing a large warehousing team and operation successfully and with attention to health & safety
• Sound understanding of using financial and other monitoring data
• Keen commercial acumen and ability to understand how to measure commercial performance
• Excellent coaching and feedback skills
