MSK Physiotherapists required, Newcastle upon Tyne
Start date: From June 2016 onwards

Due to continuing success and expansion our client is looking to recruit additional MSK physiotherapists to join their team.

Physiotherapists
Role:
The role is clinical and involves assessment, treatment planning / delivery, compiling summary reports for medico-legal referrals, and some telephone triage assessments. The caseload is varied and includes a range of acute trauma cases, occupational health staff referrals, and some self-funding private patients. Opportunities exist to develop skills in running rehabilitation classes and in carrying out computer workstation assessments. The role would ideally suit new graduates with an interest in MSK physiotherapy or junior physiotherapists with some post qualification MSK experience who are looking to further develop their skills in this field.

Hours:
The full-time post is 35 hours per week Mon-Fri to include one late session (12-8pm). Applications are also welcome from those seeking part-time hours.

Location:
You will be based in The North East Clinic which is located in Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne, but you may be required in the future to work 1-2 days per week in one of our outsourced clinics within the North East region (currently Sunderland, County Durham, Chester-le-Street, and Cramlington) therefore personal transport is essential.

Requirements:

  • They are looking for enthusiastic, motivated physiotherapists who will share the aim of delivering the highest possible standard of rehabilitation services for clients.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • A flexible approach and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent report writing and computer skills as they use case management software.
  • Manual therapy and exercise prescription experience in relation to the treatment of acute soft tissue injuries is advantageous but not essential as full training and support will be provided.
  • An acupuncture qualification is also desirable.
  • Applicants must have a BSc (Hons) or MSc in Physiotherapy, be HCPC registered and a Member of the CSP.

Physiotherapists - Telephone Triage
Role:
As part of our clients national medico-legal rehabilitation service clients referred to them for physiotherapy undergo an initial telephone triage assessment. The role involves contacting clients to carry out an assessment of their injuries, including screening for any serious pathology / red flags, identifying rehabilitation needs, and providing a summary report for the instructing party. You will work closely with the rehabilitation administration team who are responsible for sourcing a convenient clinic location from their national network and all associated administration.

Hours:
Working hours are negotiable. Core office hours are between 9am - 5pm however there is an option for evening cover (until 8pm Mon - Thurs). The role may suit those looking for flexible part-time hours to fit around a primary role.

Location:
