Our client has five manufacturing sites in the Midlands UK, plus a tooling operation in China. With proven world class performance, they are experts in transfer and progression presswork, welded assemblies, tube manipulation, exhaust bright trim and wire forming. They have developed a particular expertise in aluminium weld technology and have invested heavily in robotic plant and equipment to fulfil the advancement of lightweight platforms for their customers’ vehicles.
They currently have a number of fantastic opportunities for Tooling Engineers to join them. They are looking for one person to join them at their Coleshill site and two others to join them at their site in China where you will support new projects with regards to tooling.
In the role, you will offer key support to Project Teams regarding the introduction of new or revised tooling and will be responsible for ensuring that toolmakers proposed line-ups are refined to optimum levels for the benefit of the business. Ensuring toolmakers designs and quotations are representative of the latest issue of company manuals, you will assist teams with product design feasibility at both pre and post order reviews, and will also seek to source the most ideal toolmaker for new or revised models.
You are to communicate regularly with the customer base and personnel associate with projects, ensuring that tool trials, either at toolmakers or homeline, are witnessed and relevant reports are issued. You will make recommendations for hourly achievement improvements to be documented.
Fully experienced in all areas of toolmaking, the successful candidate should have good knowledge of single action, progression and transfer press tooling. You will be computer literate, have good written / verbal communication skills and will be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising against tight deadlines.
