Job Elements: -
• The Engineering Leader establishes technical leadership to assure that the manufacturing business maintains a profitable product portfolio throughout its life cycle. This is a continuous development role managing a team of professionals deployed to improve and nurture products via New Product Introduction and Sustainability which provides solutions to business and customers’ needs right through until end of life.
• The Engineering Leader works cross-functionally and interacts globally to assure that the business functions efficiently through product planning, sales, service, operations, finance business-development and market segment leaders in support of the new products. Specifically, the leader will: -
• Lead the Operations Team to meet its objectives to: -
o Drive Customer satisfaction
o Maintain competitiveness, margins and customer relevance of existing portfolio
o Drives internal and external technical innovation and collaboration
o Develop applications to support sales of existing portfolio
o Support research efforts on existing commercial platform
o Develop quality processes
o On-time execution of NPI/product enhancements
o On-budget execution of NPI/product enhancements
o Ensure Project Cost Performance / ROI
o Ensure a smooth transition of new products into production
o Reduce Quality/Warranty Costs
• Partner with senior leadership to define New Product Innovations (NPI) strategy
• Innovate new customer and end market focused solutions by working collaboratively with the many functions including marketing, sales, service, operations, and other R&D Centers of Excellence to deliver on-time and innovative customer solutions.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Degree in science/engineering
• Higher degree in business, with project management qualifications preferred
• Extensive experience in complex electro/mechanical and software engineering.
• Proven leadership, program, or project management of complex, cross functional engineering including platform software development
