Ambition For Ageing Project Coordinator
£19,948 to £24,622

Groundwork works across the boroughs of Bury, Bolton, Oldham and Rochdale with people of all ages and backgrounds to help them change their own life whilst bringing beneficial changes to the wider community. We provide training and create jobs, reduce energy and waste, re-connect people with nature and transform green spaces, community assets and whole neighbourhoods.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination, delivery and day to day management of two of Groundwork’s key programmes.

Ambition for Ageing is a partnership of organisations across Greater Manchester with the aim of developing creative approaches to reducing social isolation for older people and more ‘Age-Friendly’ communities.  Groundwork BBOR has been appointed the Local Delivery Lead for Bury Borough – Moorside, Radcliffe North, and St Mary’s.  The project will include undertaking a programme of engagement with older people in the wards to identify their community assets and working with them to develop ways of improving their areas.

Groundwork is in the supply chain of Manchester Growth Company, the lead contractor for Greater Manchester’s Skills for Employment pilot.  Commissioned by the Skills Funding Agency in partnership with Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership, the contract is part-funded by the European Social Fund. Our Skills for Employment service operates across Rochdale, Bolton and Oldham and provides personalised support to adults who are out of work to improve their skills and find sustainable employment.

These programmes will involve volunteers, in both formal roles and in informal roles.

This project is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.
