Head of Service – Children and Families BLUH36332
Cheadle
Salary £50,056 - £55,264 per annum

Our client provides a range of social care, special education, community support and consultancy services in the North West of England. The charity is one of the North West’s largest providers of residential homes for children from short-term emergency care to long-term placements. Their fostering service provides family placements in the North West and neighbouring regions.

They provide some of the leading specialist education services in the North West region, operating a range of special schools, a further education college and centres supporting those who cannot attend mainstream schools. In addition, they offer a wide range of training, consultancy and support services for parents and carers.

Joining our Senior Management Team, the Head of Service will play a key role in improving the outcomes of service users; leading, managing and developing the Children and Families Services in compliance with the Trust’s aims and strategic objectives.

You will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of the Together Trust’s Services to children in care, care leavers and families who require additional support and Early Intervention Services. You will manage and develop a team and work in partnership across the organisation to promote a ‘whole’ organisation approach.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Social Worker who is registered with HCPC.  Able to demonstrate a current record of success at middle/senior management level, you will have experience of implementing change and improvement within a multiple service delivery framework. With well-developed negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to lead a diverse team of managers, you should be able to think, implement and plan strategically whilst managing budgets and resources effectively.

This role requires a good understanding of Safeguarding and its impact upon service provision and service users. We also ask that you have knowledge of the issues affecting children and young people and can keep abreast of agendas affecting the voluntary and care sector.
