The company has an opportunity for a Project Manager within the Enterprise Solutions and Defence Division, based at our Chippenham and Bristol offices.

Tasks

We have a vacancy for an experienced Project Manager with a background of working in Software Engineering to manage the delivery of complex software development and systems integration projects for the company's customers. In addition, the role will require contribution to, and management of tender responses from existing and potential customers.
Applications are sought from experienced Project Managers with a Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar and a project management qualification.

The role requires:

* A good understanding of software engineering processes and the fundamentals of software technology, throughout the full software lifecycle
* Proven experience of managing complex software development or system integration projects to agreed timescale, budget and quality
* Understanding of the creation and approval of project plans and management of issues and risks
* Working closely with customer stakeholders and sub-contractors to ensure agreed requirements are met
* Excellent management skills, good problem solving abilities and strong verbal and written communication skills
* A hands-on approach to the management of all project and service activities.

Essential skills:

* Degree or equivalent in engineering, computer science or scientific discipline
* Prince 2 or equivalent Project Management certification
* Experience of managing software development and/or systems integration/managed service type projects in excess of £500k+
* Experience of Agile methods
* Excellent commercial awareness
* Experience of project budget and resource management
* Problem solving and ability to multitask
* Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desirable skills:

* Experience of sub-contractor management
* Experience of Agile UML
* Experience of proposal development and BID management
* Experience in Service Delivery and ITIL or similar methodology
* Experience of OpenPlan or similar project budgeting/scheduling tool

Any other information e.g. dual location, special security clearance, foreign languages:

* Must be prepared and willing to work on site
* Must be willing to work on defence projects
* Must be eligible to work in the UK
* Must either have SC clearance already or be able to obtain it immediately
