Our client who resides in one of Oxfordshire’s grand historic stately homes is looking for an exceptional person to be an important and valued member of the family’s already brilliant housekeeping team.
You will be a discreet person who has respect for the family’s privacy, maintaining a professional attitude towards your work at all times. You will take complete pride in everything you do ensuring all tasks are carried out to the very highest of standards.
Whilst the family are in residence you will perform a wide variety of tasks depending on the needs of them and their guests. This may include but will not be limited to the following…
• Cleaning of all rooms and properties used by the family and guests on the estate to the highest of standards - including private, formal, function and staff rooms as well as on occasions estate cottages.
• Preparation of the house on the run up to events, functions and other social engagements.
• Assist the family and guests with varying requests.
• Occasional help in the laundry and kitchens during busy periods.
• Occasional shopping trips for household goods etc.
When the family are not in residence the housekeeping team will continue to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the house and use this down time to conduct deep cleans and systematically clean and polish finer items such as silverware.
You will work on a rota along with other household staff to ensure that staffing requirements are met during various events and busier times and during these periods overtime may be required. When the family are away and during quieter times normal hours resume.
All training will be provided for this role. However, the successful candidate must be someone who takes pride in their appearance, is presentable at all times and has a flexible attitude to work with the foresight to work hard and maintain high standards during exciting busy periods knowing that quieter periods will follow. It is essential that you have a calm and pleasant outlook towards your work as the close team that you will be a part of is and must remain a harmonious one. You must be a good team player and able to support and assist your colleagues and the family at all times. Due to the rural location of our client’s home you must be a driver with your own transport.
