About The Company:

Our client was established in 1994. They offer a range of building, refurbishment and civil engineering services throughout the UK, tailored to satisfy the requirements of individual project. Due to expansion they are currently seeking a Book Keeper to work in a busy construction office environment.

About The Role:

This position is responsible for payroll regarding the direct members of staff on site and sub-contractors payments on a weekly basis. This will range from verifying their tax status through to BACS transfer.

Tasks will include:

updating/reconciling the bank account
keeping on top of paper work
adding invoices to the system
payment of PRO Forma invoices
reconciling petty cash
filing

Candidate Requirements:

Our client are looking to hear from candidates who have the following experience/skills/Knowledge:

Knowledge of all ledgers including: Payroll, Sales, Purchase ledger, VAT Returns, Petty Cash, and Cash Book.
Accuracy and attention to detail is a must. Entails a lot of numeracy, and Excel spreadsheet work.
Knowledge of CIS would be an advantage, and previous construction experience is preferred.
You must be able to use your own initiative and prioritise your work load.
You must be able to work in a busy office environment, and handle various telephone queries on a daily basis, therefore a good telephone manner is essential.
