12 Months Fixed Term Contract – 35 hours per week

Housingrecruit.com is advertising for a Rents & Services Administrator on behalf of their client, a leading social housing provider based in Didsbury.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Rents & Services Administrator to help maximise the Group’s rental and service charge income in respect of rented, shared ownership and Right to Buy properties.

The primary function of the role is to:

  • Provide appropriate rent and service charge levels for new assured tenancies to Housing Management staff as required.  
  • In consultation with Housing Management staff, calculate new net rent and service charges for existing assured tenancies and implement such after confirmation by the Rent Control Manager.  
  • Prepare service charge schedules for secure tenancies for submission to the appropriate Rent Officer Services. Collate information relating to service costs in order to ensure that full recovery is made in the service charge.  
  • Prepare applications to the Rent Officer for rent and service charge increases. Issue notices of rent and service charge increases in line with agreed deadlines.  
  • Prepare documentation for Housing Management staff attending Rent Officer/Tenants consultations and Rent Assessment Committee hearings. 
  • Input new rent and service charges on to the database. 
  • Maintain and monitor a system for ensuring that rents and services are updated at the appropriate time.

Candidate Requirements:

For this Rents & Services Administrator role, the successful candidate will be expected to be professional, co-operative and flexible to meet the needs of the team and its customers.

A good level of general education with achievement in Maths is the minimum standard.

A good working knowledge of Excel is essential, and some experience with Housing or Finance databases is desirable.

The right person will also demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and will understand and demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
