With a total of five successful ecommerce websites, this company is a rapidly growing multi-channel UK online retailer of LED lamps, lighting, electrical and DIY products.

They are now looking for an Operations Manager to join their expanding and dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who possesses a good knowledge and understanding of business processes and workflows within an online retail business.

The Operations Manager will plan, direct and coordinate the day to day activities within this small but growing ecommerce business with a £6m turnover, and take responsibility for ten members of staff.

Accountable for managing the performance and efficiency of the business, through effective management of customer service/sales, warehouse/shipping operations, inventory management, and purchasing/control of stock, using a recently implemented warehouse management system (Brightpearl).

As a customer focused business, it is paramount that their customers receive orders complete and on the day requested, so the candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, and manage picking & packing efficiency and accuracy.

Key Accountabilities:
- Effective management of the operations function and team.
- Focus on sales and customer service.
- Effective and accurate stock management.
- Develop and monitor agreed KPI's and report to Directors on a monthly basis.
- Management, development, appraisal and mentoring of customer services and warehouse teams.
- Manage changes to existing policies or implementation of new policies effectively.
- Inventory and order management via warehouse management system (Brightpearl).

Knowledge/Experience:
- A strong understanding of all aspects of online business.
- Substantial knowledge and experience of customer service, warehousing, shipping and inventory management within an ecommerce environment.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Experienced people manager with a mature and clear management style, with proven results in developing both individuals and teams.
- Focus on achieving cost reductions and increased profitability through the ethos of driving continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.

Skills and Ability:
- Degree educated and ideally 2 years minimum experience in running a similar operation.
- Customer services, logistics/shipping and purchasing (stock) experience desirable.
- Effective team manager with strong delegation and communication abilities.
- IT literate and experience of operating a Warehouse Management System.
- Commercial awareness and understanding.
- Ability to manage through productivity and KPIs.
