Salary: £17,000 - £24,000 + Excellent Benefits

One of the UK's leading independent professional services companies is currently recruiting an intelligent Accounts Assistant at their Basingstoke office. As part of the Outsourcing team, you would be tasked with providing a high quality accounting service to a wide range of clients, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with company and industry regulations.

Key tasks will include processing purchase and sales ledger invoices, preparing bank reconciliations, arranging payments, plus general bookkeeping and administrative support. You will also support senior members of the team in the preparation of management accounts packs, cashflow forecasts, and VAT returns.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an intelligent individual with an interest in accountancy to develop their skills and experience within one of the UK's leading firms. The ideal candidate for the role will have either completed an accountancy qualification at GCSE or A-Level or have experience of working in an accountancy environment. You will have strong grades in English Language and Maths GCSE and 280 UCAS points at A Level. If of interest, the Firm would be prepared to offer financial support with the AAT qualification for the right candidate. Experience working within a chartered accountancy or financial services environment would be a distinct advantage however is not essential.

You will be a well organised individual, able to multitask and prioritise a workload effectively, with strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail. This is a client-facing role so excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels will be required. Good IT skills will also be required.
