We are currently looking to recruit an experienced 'QC' Manager to join a successful importer of electrical products.
You are responsible for ensuring that all orders are delivered on time whilst complying with current legislation, specific customer requirements, QA and social responsibility policies.
You will act as the dedicated QA contact for our customers ensuring that all requirements are understood and that both our UK office and Asia (HK) office are represented in a professional manner.
Responsibilities to include:
- Establish and maintain customer specific QA requirements.
- Manage risk assessment process and subsequent QA programmes.
- Act as a point of contact for customer QA and commercial teams in respect of QA process.
- Effective management of QA approval process.
- Effectively manage QA product information process to ensure that all orders ship on time and to the required quality.
- Manage the QA critical path to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Ensure all relevant product certification is valid and received within the required timescales.
- Prompt resolution and clear escalation of any issues posing potential impact on shipment dates.
- Ensure that all products sold by UK or Asia comply with current legislation and company quality policies.
- Support and guide commercial colleagues with product selection and development.
- Communicate with suppliers via our office in Asia to raise product issues and implement corrective action plans.
- Collation and management of retrievable technical product files.
- Investigation of product quality issues raised by retailers, end customers or customer service data.
- Investigate high returning products and implement actions to reduce returns.
- Update relevant areas of the business on legislative changes to ensure continued compliance.
- Arrange and track initial selection samples and gold seal samples.
- Complete and report on sample drop tests.
- Completion of WEEE Compliance information and submissions.
The candidates should ideally have the following:
- Experience of QA in a commercial environment preferably within the Electrical Consumer products industry.
- Good product experience preferably Consumer Electrical products and understand all the compliance requirements.
- Experienced in communicating with Far Eastern suppliers, ideally including travel to Asia.
- Ability to work within a fast paced deadline driven organisation.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Good communicator.
- Defined technical skills – Quality Management Systems and product.
- Attention to detail.
- Good problem solving skills.
Working hours 9am-5pm 3 days per week 22.5hours
Salary £35,000pa pro-rata to 22.5hrs (£21,000).
